Rube Goldberg Machines

Mr. Tom Rodgers, high school physics teacher, sent out an open invitation for teachers to bring their students to see his students test out their Rube Goldberg machines.  We were fortunate enough to go and be the only students watching.  A Rube Goldberg machine is a machine that performs a simple task in a complex manner.  The video shows some of the students demonstrating how their machines work and Mr. Rodgers testing the students' knowledge of their machines.  Below are photos of first grade students observing and questioning the high school students.  Today, the children watched a few short videos of Rube Goldberg machines in action in science class and then they came back to the classroom to try to build their own machine!

Back in the classroom, the children are trying to build their own Rube Goldberg machine!
