"Lucky" to know you!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Carlson's mom made a lucky charms snack for the children to celebrate St. Patrick's Day! We learned that Patrick was born in England in 391, kidnapped at 16 and forced to be a shepherd in the hills of Ireland for 7 years before he escaped and went back to England on a pirate ship.  A bishop made him a priest and he went back to Ireland.  He wanted to convert the Irish to christianity.  Patrick died in 461.

Leapin' Leprechauns! What happened here?!!!

When we came back from lunch, the children were horrified and delighted to see that some leprechauns had been in our classroom.  Furniture was moved, the rug was rolled up, some chairs were on tables, some chairs were upside down, glitter was sprinkled everywhere, paper was spilled, the crayons were knocked over, and the math cubes were spilled! My goodness, what a mess and what a lot of excitement!

Final Mile -

We had a lucky leprechaun come to visit us during assembly to get the children excited about running the Shamrock Final Mile at the oceanfront. The children have been running laps in PE for several months and they can sign up to run at the beach to earn a Final Mile medal!

Ayron Hutton our Varsity Basketball Reader

Ayron Hutton has been visiting our class to read every Monday afternoon since the Fall.  Ayron is wearing shirt number 5 in this photograph.  Ayron is going to play college basketball in Connecticut in the Fall of 2014.  We will miss seeing him around Cape Henry!

Flat Stanley

We sent Flat Stanley on vacation with the children for spring break.  The children are going to take photos of him on vacation.  Some children will stay in Virginia, some children will travel out of state, some children will travel internationally!

Funny Glasses pictures!
