Thank you Mr. Fluharty - Tanzania Video

We thanked Mr. Fluharty for letting us borrow his video on Tanzania made by Cape Henry Collegiate School seniors when they participated in a community service project there in 2012.

Happy Passover (Pesach) - Seder Plates

The children made these plates to show what would be on a seder plate during Passover. Each of the foods has a special meaning, for example, the bitter herbs are to remind people of the bitterness of slavery.

Traveling Typewriter Stories

We partnered with Mrs. Christianson's sixth grade Honors English class.  The first grade students came up with a story idea (plot and characters). They had to think of a superpower for their hero, a villain, figure out how the superhero would overcome the villain and what the prize would be for victory.  The sixth graders came to our classroom to partner with us and type the stories. The sixth graders also helped the first graders revise and edit their stories before publishing!
