Japanese Children's Day


Our class contribution to the LS Newspaper will be an article on Japanese Children's Day as this ties in with our year long study of Asia.  Above you can see Jamison putting the finishing touches on a fish that all of the students took turns to paint.  Today, Marina, who is a fifth grade student who moved to Cape Henry Collegiate School from Japan in August, came to our classroom to tell us more about Children's Day.  She brought with her a carp windsock which would usually be hung from a tall pole outside the home in Japan.



Below is an origami hat in the style of a Samurai Warrior.
